The Summit of the Future Dialogue and the establishment of an African Research Network, 4Th -6TH March 2024, Transcom Hotel, Abuja Nigeria

The Summit of the Future (SOTF) Dialogue is expected to take place in May 2024 in Nairobi, and final meeting in New York in September 2024. The Abuja meeting was meant to expedite this process among the African member states and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).  The aim is to ensure that African perspectives and innovation priorities are heard in policy debates to better address the critical issues of sustainable development, peace and security, climate governance, democratic and digital participation, and human rights and humanitarian action.

An African Research Network on Regional and Global Governance Innovation (ARN-RGGI) was established to ensure that the outcome of the SOTF will be fully implemented.  The Network is supposed to drive the processes and keep alive the momentum for deliberation and implementation of the recommendations of the Africa SOTF Dialogue through targeted policy, research and innovative and collaborative strategies with African national governments, regional economic groupings, international civil society organizations, and the United Nations and its agencies, among other issues.
