UNGSS VISITS CONSERVATION AREAS

University of Nairobi Geography Students Society (UNGSS) visited Ol Pejeta conservancy during their outreach programs between 29th November to 2nd December 2018 This is one of the most well managed conservancy in Kenya. The group which was accompanied by their patron Dr. P Shah has been vibrant in environmental cleaning, tree planting among other environmental conservation activities.

Hydrology & Integrated Water Resources Management

The subject matter deals with the distribution of water resources in both space and time. The science of Hydrology is an inter-disciplinary subject which incorporates water resources management and utilization. It embraces the scientific understanding of the hydrological (water) cycle as well as the aspects of water distribution on global scale and impacts of human activities on the water resources.

Prof. Cherie Enns of the University of the Fraser Valley in Canada visited the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies (July 10, 2019) and held talks with the Chairman of Department, Dr. Boniface Wambua. Present in the meeting were Prof. Sam Owuor and Ms Veroica Wambui (PhD student).
