Dr. Samuel Owuor visited the University of the Fraser Valley, Canada (8th to 12th June 2018) to enhance academic links between the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies (University of Nairobi) and Department of Geography and the Environment (University of the Fraser Valley). Dr. Owuor was able to interact with faculty members, students and Queen Elizabeth Scholars. In addition, he attended a field trip/class to an acquaponics farm, amazing Othello Tunnels, scenic Bridal Falls and a commercial organic farm – thanks to Prof. Garry Fehr (Agriculture Centre of Excellence). Three postgraduate students from the University of Nairobi’s Department of Geography and Environmental Studies (Edith Nyamwange, Phanice Mokeira and Sherlyne Nyaboe) are currently at University of the Fraser Valley on a one semester internship under the Queen Elizabeth Scholars program. The visit was ably organized and coordinated by Prof. Cherie Enns (Geography and the Environment).
