The Brazilian delegation was led by their coordinator, Prof. Alfredo Wagner Berno de Almeida of the Federal University of Amazonas. The aim of the visit was to conclude the cooperation on Social Cartography and Technical Training of Researchers and Social Movements in Kenya and Brazil, through exchanging results and ideas for further cooperation with the Kenyan counterparts. The Chairman of the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, Dr. Boniface Wambua, welcomed the Brazilian delegation to the University of Nairobi and stressed the need for continued cooperation in the field of new social cartography.
