UNGSS in a joint environmental clean-up activity of Mt. Longonot

On the 23rd of July 2016, the University of Nairobi Geography Students Society (UNGSS) got the privilege of travelling to Mt. Longonot National Park for tree planting and clean-up activities. Mt. Longonot is a strato-volcano located southeast of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley. Mt Longonot is less than 9,100ft above sea level with a tree-filled interior and a lonesome steam vent to the northeast. It is protected by the Kenya Wildlife Service as part of Mt. Longonot National Park. The team was led by lecturers Parita Shah and Jacque Walubwa.
