Ms Jacque Walubwa of the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies participated at the fourth collaborative Research Committee 21 (RC21)-International Journal of Urban and Regional Research (IJURR)-Foundation for Urban and Regional Studies (FURS) School in Comparative Urban Studies held in the University of Urbino Carlo Bo (Italy) from August 16th to September 1st 2015. The school was organized in collaboration with the Department of Economics, Sociology and Politics of the University of Urbino Carlo Bo. Jacque was offered a fellowship which among other things entails a 4 year RC21 membership. Research Committee 21 on Sociology of Urban and Regional Development of the International Sociological Association was established in 1970 to promote theory and research in the sociology of urban and regional development and – in so doing – create an international community of scholars who will advance the field. During the school, Jacque presented two papers on “The ideal city: Between myth and reality” and “CHAMAS”: The power of the invisible urban woman”.
